Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Puno.

At 8:30 AM we pick you up from your hotel and board the bus to Puno.

At 3 PM we arrive in Puno, where you may stay in a three star hotel such as the Vargas Inn.  You have free time in the afternoon to wander the city and look around.

Day 2: Uros - Taquile (1 day).

We pick you up from your hotel at 6:40 in the morning, head to the port, and leave on the motorized launch at 7:00.  It is a 30 minute voyage to the beautiful floating islands of Uros, unique in the world. Here we will see the museums with the impressive plants and animals of Lake Titicaca.  After an hour, we will continue onwards to Taquile and arrive just before noon.  A winding path leads up to the town at the top of the hill that takes about 40 minutes to hike.  We will stay on Taquile for two hours, visit the artisan collective, and take in the beautiful views.  The islanders still wear their traditional clothing.  You have the option of having lunch on the island, but we recommend you bring water and drinks with you as they can be expensive.

At 2:30 PM we board the boat and return to Puno by 5:30 in the afternoon.

When you return to Puno you have the option of returning to Cusco or traveling onwards to Arequipa, Lima, La Paz, or another destination.

If you have time to stay in Puno, you could visit Sillustani or other interesting places near the city.
